Creation Fest - Highlights of 2001

In 2001 we began with 100 55-gallon barrels donated by local Pepsi and Coke bottlers that we transformed into recycling receptacles for aluminum cans. With the help of our eight volunteers, the Creation Festival staff, and the volunteer Creation Fest Trash Crew from a local church called Oasis of Love, we collected 422 pounds of aluminum cans. With twice daily announcements from the main stage and EEN's name and web site displayed prominently on the receptacles, our name recognition grew significantly.

Our Creation Fest Recycling Team began the day together in prayer and had a devotion together in the afternoon. Our incredible volunteers worked about 5 hours a day, and then had time to listen to the music, hang out with friends, and meet new friends.
In 2002 we will add plastic to our recycling efforts, doubling our volume and requiring another 100 55-gallon recycling receptacles. This will require 10 more volunteers for a total of 18.
Meet our 2001 Volunteers
All of our volunteers are wonderful Christian young people devoted to the Lord and to caring for His creation. We had quite an international contingent in 2001!
